Willkommen!
My name is Paige Caballero, and I am thrilled to be conducting this winter’s SFA production of Cabaret!
We are assembling a volunteer orchestra to bring Kander and Ebb’s iconic, high-energy score to life, and we would love to have you join us. Cabaret relies heavily on a hot, theatrical band to drive the show’s dark and vibrant world, so securing a strong group of musicians is key to making this production a success.
Please take a moment to fill out the form above to share your interest and instrument details. Because specific instrumentation for this score is limited, filling out the form does not automatically guarantee a spot, but it helps us map out our ensemble.
We know schedules get packed, but we want to be as flexible as possible. Share your availability on the form, and we will do our best to build a rehearsal schedule that works for everyone. Looking forward to making some incredible music together!
Rehearsal Commitment
The exact orchestra rehearsal schedule will be established based on musician availability, and the needs of the Piano-Conductor/Music Director. All musicians should expect to meet 1-3x/week for 2 weeks at the beginning of December, followed by a 2 week holiday break and 2 final weeks of rehearsal prior to tech week. This rehearsal period will focus on learning the score, establishing tempos and style, and preparing the orchestra to join the cast.
Musicians will also be expected to prepare and practice their individual books independently outside of scheduled rehearsals.

Full cast and orchestra music rehearsals:
Wednesday, January 13
Friday, January 15
These rehearsals will bring the full orchestra and cast together and should be considered required orchestra dates.
Tech Week | January 18–21 | 6:00–10:00 PM (Mandatory)
The orchestra will be incorporated into the full technical rehearsal process, including sound, lighting, staging, transitions, and coordination with the cast. Musicians should plan to be available for the entirety of Tech Week.

Refund, Exchange, & Ticket Donation Policies
All ticket sales are final. There are no ticket refunds once a transaction has been completed for all productions and events. However, we understand that personal schedules sometimes change, and emergencies arise. In these instances, we have the following options available to assist you:
You may request a ticket exchange if you cannot attend your scheduled performance. To request a ticket exchange:
- Requests can be made up to 2-hours before the scheduled performance or event and cannot be arranged afterward.
- Call Audience Services at (503) 828-3414 or send an email message and we would be happy to assist you.
- Tickets may be exchanged for another performance of the same production only.
- A $2 exchange fee is applied per ticket.
- Exchanged tickets are subject to new ticket availability and may include a price increase based on the date of the new performance, seat location, or date of exchange. Additional restrictions may also apply.
If you cannot attend a scheduled performance or event, you can donate the cost of your ticket to the Sherwood Foundation for the Arts organization. Your ticket will be released into the ticket system, and the ticket’s face value will be donated to the SFA. To request a ticket donation:
- Requests can be made up to 2-hours before the scheduled performance or event and cannot be arranged afterward.
- Call Audience Services at (503) 828-3414 or send an email message and we would be happy to assist you.
- An email confirmation will be sent confirming the ticket return and donation to the SFA.
- For all contributions over $25, a tax deduction receipt will be sent by email within two weeks of the request.
If you missed your scheduled performance or event and could not use your ticket, you may be able to use the ticket for a subsequent performance of the same show as a Past Date Ticket. To request a past date:
- Call Audience Services at (503) 828-3414 or send an email message and we would be happy to assist you.
- We will issue a complimentary ticket pass against your original paid ticket if space is available.
- Tickets are eligible to be Past Dated if you did not exchange it before a performance.
